PREMIER SLAMS GOVERNOR’S CLAIM ON MINISTERS SEEKING TO WEAKEN INTEGRITY ACT

Premier Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley has slammed the recent allegation made by His Excellency Governor John Rankin who said that members of the House of Assembly are seeking to weaken the Integrity in Public Life Act 2021.

The premier’s response came during Monday’s press conference which was held to address some of the developments stemming from the governor’s previous press conference on Friday, January 5.

Responding to a question posed by 284 Media, Premier Wheatley said the allegation bears no truth and is indeed false.

Contrary to the allegation, Premier Wheatley not only promised to bring the legislation which was passed in the House of Assembly in 2021 into force, but he also hinted at strengthening the Act if necessary.
