ANOTHER MISSING CRUISE SHIP PASSENGER PROMPTS IMMIGRATION CONCERNS

Authorities in the Virgin Islands are seeking public assistance in locating Monica Marcela Pineda, a Colombian passenger who disembarked from a cruise ship but failed to reboard.

According to officials, Pineda arrived in the Virgin Islands aboard the Norwegian Sky on Sunday, April 28th. However, she did not return to the vessel before its departure nor has she legally processed outbound immigration.

“If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Mrs. Pineda, please contact the Department of Immigration at 468-4705, 468-4717, 468-4754, or the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Hotline at 311.” stated an advisory from immigration authorities.

This is not the first instance of a cruise ship passenger going missing in the Virgin Islands in recent months, sparking concerns among some residents that an illegal immigration tactic may be at play.
