DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR LAUNCHES TRAINING ON NEW LABOUR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Today marks the commencement of training on the new Labour Management System for the staff of the Department of Labour and Workforce Development.

The training, estimated to last over the next two weeks, signals a significant milestone in the modernization efforts of the department.

The announcement was made last Friday by Deputy Premier and Minister for Labour, Honourable Lorna Smith who emphasized the importance of this transition, highlighting its potential to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the department.

She revealed that in addition to the training sessions, technical preparations are underway throughout this week to make the system available for employers participating in the pilot phase.

Minister Smith elaborated that this initial phase is projected to span approximately two months, granting employers full access to the system. This trial period will allow for comprehensive testing and adjustments before the system is rolled out to the general public.

Smith expressed optimism about the benefits the new system will bring, emphasizing its potential to increase productivity within the Department of Labour and Workforce Development. She said anticipated improvements include faster turnaround times and enhanced convenience for all applicants.
